Denise is the author of "Doing School": How We Are Creating a Generation of Stressed Out, Materialistic, and Miseducated Students. She founded and now directs Challenge Sucess, a research and intervention effort to work with K-12 schools to counter the causes of academic stress. She also has been a lecturer at the Stanford University School of Education for the past 8 years.
